Entries
Sheltering the entry, either by recessing it back into the building itself, or with a projecting roof, is a common feature of early twentieth century homes. However, portions of the structure by necessity project out beyond overhead protection, particularly steps, wing walls, and the bases of overhead supports.
Time and typically only cosmetic maintenance have taken their toll, and few originally constructed entries have survived. Nearly all have been “rebuilt”, generally with little regard to factors governing long term durability.
Gary D. Torgerson Co. entry rebuilds are designed for obvious esthetic statements, and are engineered for long term durability.
