Example 2 - Apartment Building, 1929 Construction
This twelve unit building presents a mystery in its elegance. All units are simply studios or one bedroom, yet its public areas were constructed to the highest residential standards of the period. Woodwork is fine mahogany, all windows are glazed with stained glass imported from Czechoslovakia, banisters are custom wrought iron. Clearly such construction made no economic sense. The building must have been someone’s labor of love.
In later years the building obviously was unappreciated. Our restoration returned it to its original elegance. Now the building is safely in the stewardship of condominium owners.
