Example 1 - 2006 Repaint of 1983 Company Restoration, 1906 Construction

Perhaps a rough parallel with entomology applies. When first encountered this architectural butterfly was wrapped in a cocoon of aluminum siding. The simile however abruptly ended with the removal of the retrofitted siding. Revealed was hardly a thing of splendor. Years of neglect, and then the typical ripping away of surface projections attendant to residing: dental molds, outer window casings, drip caps, various trim pieces... The list is long on such a building. Much work lay ahead.

Note the Moorish arch detail on the left peak has been sheeted over. Also the right peak has no visible window.

Various moldings are missing due to rip out attendant to over siding.

(4) 1983 Completion
The Company designed and installed the oval window in the peak. The privacy hedge is newly planted.

(5) 1996 With the passage of thirteen years the hedge is indeed providing privacy.

(6) 1996 Thirteen years have passed since our restoration.

Completion and a window one hundred years to the past
Under our client’s stewardship a century of neglect and stop gap maintenance has been addressed. How fortunate. Such homes will never again be built.
