Example 3 - 1988 Restoration of 1931 Construction, Photographed 2000
This mission style home was commissioned by the founder of the Boeing Aircraft Company for a senior executive.
Much landscaping has taken place since 1988 (see original completion picture below), but no repainting.
The Company’s restoration regimen for this home was shaped by its unprotected marine exposure. A thick (nominally fourteen dry mils) elastomeric base coat provides primary weather protection over both stucco and wood. The visible color coats are essentially cosmetic. Most certainly they have faded with the passage of eighteen years. However, the underlying elastomeric membrane has remained intact.
