Example 1 - 1999 Restoration of 1926 Construction.

This home exhibits features which contribute to the durability of older homes: sheltering overhanging eaves and entries, double sliding sash windows with thick and well pitched sills, and dense straight grained fir and cedar lumber.

(1) 1999 Close examination illustrates the futility of spot removal of peeling and blistering paint:. Underlying coatings continue to separate, particularly at the margins of where paint has been spot stripped.
