A Short Discussion of The Classic Box Style:
More generally called Seattle Box locally, houses of this configuration were built primarily during the first two decades of the twentieth century. They are magnificent homes. Solidly built and sheltered by wide overhanging eaves and entry overheads, they are intrinsically durable. These were clearly the homes of the affluent. They are thus large and elegant in interior appointments. Present occupants are now stewards of non-replaceable architectural treasures. Duplicating such construction today is no longer economically possible.
