A recent repaint masked poorly bonded paint and nearly a century of accumulating deterioration. |

(6) Completed deck
The fiberglass material is similar to a boat hull. It extends approximately nine inches up behind the siding and provides a most durable and effective barrier to moisture intrusion. |

(7) Prior to work, and completion. This oak door was stripped of paint and refinished with polyurethane varnish. The leaded glass sidelights and door panel were removed and repaired. |

(8) The master bedroom balcony was rebuilt similarly to the deck below. |

(9) In shop construction, and installation. Deck railing components were pre-coated prior to assembly. All surfaces, and most particularly vulnerable end grain, were thoroughly sealed. The flat wing wall caps are disguised metal flashings. |
